Assam Gunotsav 2024 District Wise Date and Guidelines

Assam Gunotsav 2024 is going to be held from January, 3 to 9th February 2024 in three phases. The first phase covering 12 districts, second phase 13 districts and in the third phase 10 Districts will be evaluated accordingly. Assam Gunotsav Date 2024

The Education Department of Assam has already released the date of gunotsav for all the three phases.  

As we know the gunotsav 2024 is going to be completed in phase wise. The first phase of Assam gunotsav is starting from 3rd January and second phase is starting from 9th January and the third phase is starting from 5th February 2024. The activity to be organized in schools according to the date of gunotsav as mentioned officially. The important date and the activities to be performed in schools are discussed below.

Assam gunotsav

The Gunotsav is an initiative of the Assam  Government which focuses mainly on the assessment of learning outcomes of children in order to  identifying the learning gaps and subsequently designing remedial measures for improvement. After successfully conducted gunotsav the schools are provided grades as per the performance of the students and schooling system. The schools have to perform the gunotsav in different dates in their respective phases. Self evaluation, scholastic co- scholastic events dates are given in the following table.

Gunotsav 2024 Marking System 

There will be two types of evaluation in gunotsav 2024.

  1. Self-Evaluation
  2. External Evaluation 

The evaluation will consist of scholastic, co-scholastics and community participation covering Class I to IX and based on the performance of students assessment will be made. Accordingly schools will be evaluated based on the followings-

  • 90% on Scholastic,
  • 5%  on Co-scholastics and
  • 5% on Community participation. 

It may be mentioned that the question papers have also been set or prepared on the basis of Learning Outcomes. After analysing the learning levels and identifying the learning gaps, suitable strategic action plan is expected to be designed in order to improve if necessary.

Important Points of Gunotsav 2024
  • Self-evaluation (Reading skill and School Evaluation) will be conducted by schools in presence of SMC/SMDC. This will ensure greater participation of all teachers of schools, SMC/SMDC member and community.
  • On the day of external evaluation, teachers will be interchanged within the cluster. Evaluation will b e OMR based.
  • From Class -Il level onwards, students will fill up the OMR sheet themselves
  • Individual question papers will be provided to each student.
  • For class I & ll, class wise OMR sheets will be there for marking/transferring of responses. External Evaluator/teachers will darken OMR sheet as per responses of the students in the question booklet cum answer sheet.
  • From class III onwards, OMR sheet will be for individual child.

What is Assam Gunotsav 2024?

The Gunotsav is a positive initiative of the Assam Government which focuses mainly on assessment of learning outcomes of children of I to I. Through this gunotsav examination, assess the learning outcomes for identifying learning gaps and subsequently designing remedial measures for improvement.

In 2023, Gunotsav has been scheduled in the month of January and February in three phases. Subsequently in 2024 the gunotsav is going to be begin from 3rd January 2024 in three phases as well.  There will be self-evaluation followed by External evaluation. The evaluation having  scholastic, co-scholastics and community participation covering Class I to IX and based on the performance of students assessment will be done.  It may be mentioned that the evaluation tools such as question papers have also been prepared on the basis of the Learning Outcomes of children.  After analyzing the learning levels and identifying the learning difficulty, learning gaps, suitable strategic action plan is expected to be designed to improve, where necessary.
