Admissions into Phd Programmes will be based on the Research Eligibility Test conducted by Gauhati university. The University will publish the rank list for each subject for counselling process. Gauhati University has successfully conducted the Research Eligibility Test (GURET) on 03 August 2025. Candidates who have participated in the examination for admission into PhD Programmes will be able to download the rank list through the website of the university.
The Gauhati University has announced the rank list for each subject based on the marks attained by the candidates in the GURET 2025.
In case of same marks obtained in the GURET 2025 such as two or more candidates obtain equal marks. The inter-se merit of such students will be determine d as per the following rules-
- positive marks and negative marks in GURET 2025.
- Applicants having higher absolute value of the ratio will get better rank.
- Number of unanswered questions. Aspirants with less number of unanswered questions get better rank.

Gauhati University Phd Counselling 2025
The counselling process for admission into PhD programmes of Gauhati University will take place as re the counselling schedule of the respective department. Counselling is a compulsory process of the PhD admission which is conducting by the respective department as per the norms of the concerned department.
