GU Research Eligibility Test is the first screening test after the Central Application Process (CAP) for admission into the PhD Programmes of GU, unless a candidate qualifies for an exemption.
GU PhD Admission2025 Selection Process
The GU Research Eligibility Test (GURET) is conducted for 100 Marks for the candidates who have submitted the application form between the period of applications.
After successfully concluded the entrance exam, the department will release the GURET (Research Eligibility Test) rank list on 8 August 2025 for counselling.
The candidates who have qualified in GURET will be eligible for counselling. The eligible candidates will have to complete their counselling process at department level.
Each department will prepare the GURET selection list according to the intake capacity and reservation policy of the university.

What to do After GURET 2025
In completion of the exam 2025, the university will release the merit list for each subject on the basis of marks obtains in test 2025.
The merit list will be considered by each department for counselling.
The final selection list of candidates will be prepared by the Department Research Committee (DRC) and published at the website GU for admission of the candidates.
