The registration process for UGC NET December 2025 is open from today 7th October 2025. The National Eligibility Test (NET) exam is conducted twice in a year in June and December session. The NTA has been conducting UGC-NET 2025 which is a test to determine the eligibility of Indian nationals for ‘Assistant Professor’ and ‘Junior Research Fellowship and Assistant Professor’ in universities and colleges of India. The National Testing Agency (NTA) will conduct NET 2025 for JRF and Assistant Professor in 83 subjects in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode.

UGC NET 2025 Eligibility Criteria

In order to apply UGC NET Application Form 2025 . Applicants have to meet certain eligibility criteria as mentioned by the concerned authority. The basic eligibility criteria for UGC NET 2025 for the posts of Assistant Professor and Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) as as in the following.

Education qualification

• An applicant should have a Master’s Degree in relevant subject from any University Grant Commission (UGC) recognized university or institution.
• Marks: Applicants should have scored at least 55% marks in aggregate if hey belong to Unreserved category. And 50% marks for the reserved category candidates (SC/ST/OBC/PWD…)
• Appearing:  Applicants appearing in their final year or whose result till awaited they can also apply for UGC-NET Exam.
• Age criteria: There is no upper age limit for Assistant Professor.
• For JRF: An applicant’s age should not be more that 31 years. However, 5 years age relaxation is given to the candidates belonging to reserved category as UGC norms.
