UGC NET Cut Off and Qualifying Marks 2023

The ugc net cut off out of 300 marks is determine-d by the National Testing Agency (NTA). The applicants who score the highest marks are ranke d on the top of the merit list. So the cut of marks will be releasing with the publication of NET result. In order to qualify this exam the applicants have to score the minimum ugc net qualifying marks for assistant professor, as per the applicant’s category (General, OBC, ST, SC etc.) in both paper 1 as well as paper 2.

According to the official notification, the minimum qualifying mark for the UR (general) candidate is 40% whereas for the reserved category candidate is 35% marks.

The UGC NET Exam contains two papers, i.e. Paper 1 and Paper-2. The Paper 1 which is considere d as compulsory paper that is general paper. The 1st paper contains 50 questions carrying 2 marks in each question. So the paper 1 is 100 marks.

Whereas the exam paper 2 is a subjective paper. It contains 100 questions carrying 2 marks in each question. So paper 2 is of 200 marks. Applicants have to score the minimum qualifying marks out of 100 (Paper 1) and 200 (Paper 2) marks. See the following table.
